Lindell Bank is a locally owned, FDIC insured commercial bank and trust company with a proud heritage of service to the families and businesses of St. Louis. It is one of only two St. Louis Banks to keep it doors open during the bank holidays following the stock market crash that preceded the great depression. When the Bank first opened at the corner of Grand and St. Louis Avenues, it was one of the first buildings in the new Peter Lindell addition to the City of St. Louis. It is was that new section of the city that gave Lindell Bank its name. Lindell has been a vital part of the economic, business and social fabric of our unique region for nearly a century.

During its early history, Lindell primarily served the brewery and shoe industries, bringing much needed capital and economic growth to a growing prosperous community. Early customers took out loans to finance the development of the Grand Avenue business district as well as the fashionable homes and apartment buildings of the Central West End.

The organization weathered the tornado of 1927 which destroyed the original bank building and took the life of one of our tellers. Following the storm people gathered cash from the debris and returned it to the bank. With help from the community, the bank quickly reopened and rebuilt in its original location, just south of Sportsmans Park, home to both the St. Louis Cardinals and Browns. A great many ball players such as Dizzy Dean and Frank Frisch were frequent visitors in the Bank's lobby.

Today, Lindell has grown beyond the original Grand Avenue bank , with locations in South City, the edge of Forest Park, Ellisville, St. Peters and St. Charles. Each offering unique opportunities to participate in the growth and revitalization of the areas they serve.

Lindell Bank knows that when people work together to achieve common goals, good things happen, individuals grow, businesses prosper, communities thrive. That is why, generation after generation, we have worked to build solid and productive relationships with the people, businesses and organizations that make up our community.
